- Many hiking stick makers tie the ends of a leather shoe lace together and say the stick comes complete with a leather strap.
- Papa GnawBone braids a tri-color leather rope, then weaves the ends back into itself for a continuous loop.

- We use reinforced vulcanized rubber, made from a hay bailer conveyer belt, for non-slip durability in the backcountry or in the neighborhood.
